Activities

Lopez Island offers some of the finest recreation activities available in the Pacific Northwest. Visitors can bicycle, kayak, whale watch, photograph wildlife, or wander miles of public beaches. Also available are numerous displays, tours, and demonstrations. Below is a partial listing of activities in the area. OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Wildlife Photography
Black tail deer, bald eagles, and numerous other bird species can be seen and photographed easily in their natural setting. The rural nature of Lopez and its high percentage of sunny days are ideal.

Sea Kayaking
Kayak rentals, classes and guided trips. 468-2847

Fishing
Public fresh water fishing is available at Hummel Lake, and saltwater fishing can be done through either fishing charters or by launching your own boat at one of the three public launching facilities on the island.

Lopez Island Golf Course
Nine holes, Green fees 9 holes $15.00, 18 holes $22.00. Pull carts available. Open to the public year around. Phone 468-2679.

Weeks Wildlife Marsh Trail
Short loop trail through marshland where birds abound.

Bicycle Works at the Marina
Bike 1/2 day rental $20.00, full day or 24 hours $30.00, phone 468-2847.

State Parks
Spencer Spit State Park and Odlin Park each have trails and beaches.
